Travel Guide: Michelle's Paris
Posted on 07 October 2019
It's obvious, Paris is so easy to love. I revisit my usual haunts and discover new places and fall in love with it again every time; the blue skies, beautiful architecture, the magical something in the air and the ridiculously chic people around every corner. Here's an updated list from my latest trip to Pareeee!
Essentials
Comfortable shoes to discover the city by. Stroll around the different neighbourhoods and sit outside a cafe to people watch and soak up the atmosphere. My favourites; Cafe Charlot, La Palette, Manfred Paris and Cafe Le Buci.
Eat
Cafe Ineko - A charming little organic cafe in Marais, serves devilish dishes and is super photogenic.
Chez Janou - Off a quiet street in Place des Voges, this cafe turned bistro is quintessential Paris. Order a Pastis for sundowners and be confronted with a choice of over 35 to choose from!
Yen - When in Paris and missing Japanese food, I come here for their hand made soba. It's a favourite of Parisians in the know and in the heart of St Germain de Prés. Must order their matcha red bean roll cake.
Sancerre - Come here for a classic Parisian breakfast and watch the city come to life.
Shop
L'Apartement Sézane - One of France's first digital native brand's, their flagship store is a haven of cute booties and amazingly instagramable.
Le Bon Marche - 24 Sevres - Get inspired by the latest exhibition and shop this fashion mecca.
Experience
If your feet get tired of wandering the streets endlessly. The second best thing to so is sign yourself up to a bicycle tour hosted by Bike About Tours. We signed ourselves up for the Paris Day Tour, which begin with a coffee and croissant at Le Peloton Cafe and take you on a delightful whirl around the mediaeval boundaries of the city. Our host Charlie was so engaging and has the magical ability to bring rather dry historical facts to life. Book here!
Visit
Spend a full day exploring the area Marais. It's rich in history and architecture, from grand gardens to its crooked medieval streets and old fashioned bread shops, trendy shops and fashionable art galleries, to bars and restaurants all crammed together.
